JoEllyn has been CPR certified since 2005 and AED certified since 2008. JoEllyn received her CrossFit Certification in 2010 and USA Weightlifting Certification in 2012.
Her athletic career had only begun once she found CrossFit and competed on a team in the 2010 CrossFit Central East Regionals! She continued to compete ranking highest in 2012 as an individual in the 2012 CrossFit Central East Open (4th place) and placed 6th overall as an individual in the 2012 CrossFit Central East Regionals. She competed again in 2013 ranking her 62nd in the world after the 2013 Regionals. She then continued her competition schedules by competing in SweatRX and CrossFit Regionals again in 2014. JoEllyn finished the Central East CrossFit open in 12th place and then headed to Regionals for the 4th time!
She also qualified for the American Open and Nationals weightlifting meets in 2013.
JoEllyn was an Outlaw athlete and worked and trained under Rudy Nielson in 2013 where she developed her Olympic lifting and barbells movements while being apart of the Outlaw Training Camps.
She then became a member of Team Deep in 2014, now known as Power & Grace, where she had the opportunity to train with Coach Spencer Arnold, Coach Mike Poppa and his elite athletes. She developed a great understanding for strategy and accessory skill work under their great coaching.
Since then she has focused on growing CrossFit Bluegrass and its athletes along with her 3 little boys, Will, Hunter, and Clay!
How did you find out about CrossFit? My husband! He encouraged me to try CrossFit, at a local gym, after he was exposed to CrossFit training during the police academy.
